MURUVVAT-TEKS FSV: JANUARY-APRIL 2008 PRODUCTION FIGURES

Tashkent: Output of Muruvvat-teks FSV for the first four months of 2008 totaled 756 tons of yarn, 291 tons of knitted fabric and 656,000 units of end products, valued at USD 4,527,100.

April figures were 106 tons of fabric and 134,000 units of end product, amounting to USD 1,054,000.

As a result of a number of public holidays and long week-ends in the CIS, the first two weeks of May (1-12 May) showed a minor sales decrease, with total value of products sold at USD 446,200. May forecasts have been revised and are expected to be USD 20,000 less than April.

Muruvvat-teks management is making best efforts to return to the previous rate of sales increase.

With significant new capacity coming on stream in the second half of 2008, Muruvvat-teks is planning to produce 7.5 – 8 m units of end products with a total value of USD 16m.
