SHURTANGAZMAKHSULOT JV: LPGU IS NOW FULLY OPERATIONAL

Tashkent: Shurtangazmakhsulot JV has commissioned a second processing line for its liquefied petroleum gas unit (LPGU) located near at the Shurtan Gas Processing Plant in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan.

The first line of this processing unit was put into operation on 19 July 2008.

Shurtangazmakhsulot JV was established by Shurtanneftegaz USV (50%), Zeromax GmbH (25%) and Arch Energy Ltd. (25%) in March 2006 with the intention to construct and operate two processing lines of LPGU, a Booster Station, service dock and liquefied gas storage facilities.

Project design estimates and Feasibility Study was made by Neftegaz Sanoat Loyikha, equipment supplied by LenNiiChimmash Ltd (Leningrad Scientific Research Institute of Chemical Engineering) and the Ukrainian Frunze Sumy company.

The production capacity of this joint venture can process about 6 bcm of natural gas a year and obtain at each processing block no less than 28,000 tons of propane, 25,000 tons of butane and 21,000 tons of gas condensate a year.

Both LPGU lines are currently prepared to reach their rated capacity, with work cycle settings adjusted to achieve the required product quality.
